Largest federal government university research grant in Atlantic Canadian History
This research is enabled by the largest federal government university research award in Dalhousie — and Atlantic Canadian — history: a $35-million investment by CFI, supplemented by an additional $10 million from NSERC and $327,500 from SSHRC. This investment will leverage in excess of $100 million of in-kind and financial contributions from our OTN partners worldwide.
"OTN is evolving into a major global contribution to the knowledge base of the world's oceans- the "one ocean"- and as such, is a major Canadian initiative of immense present and future value to many jurisdictions." - Dr. Peter Harrison, Stauffer-Dunning Chair and Director of the School of Policy Studies, Queen's University, OTN Council Chair
"We believe that sound research and protection of our natural resources are priorities for all Canadians. OTN has made exciting contributions to the technological and science communities in just a few short years. Dalhousie University is excited and proud to continue its support of the Ocean Tracking Network in producing the science to guide better oceans management." - Dr. Martha Crago, VP Research, Dalhousie University
