Arctic Arrays

OTN Arctic deployments began in the summer of 2010 with the deployment of the Cumberland Sound Array of 29 receivers near Pangnirtung, Nunavut, and VPS test arrays in Lancaster Sound. In the summer of 2011, a line of 12 VR4 receivers and nine 180-kHz VR2Ws was placed in Maxwell Bay, Devon Island, Nunavut, and the Cumberland Sound Array was rolled over and expanded. The summer of 2012 saw the expansion of the OTN Arctic arrays into Scott Inlet, Nunavut, along with deployments of acoustic receivers and oceanographic monitoring benthic pods in Resolute Bay.
